I wanted to update my review because I don't think I gave them a fair shake the first time 'round! Stopped by here, on the recommendation of the cashier at Trader Joe's. This place is *literally* across the street. Upfront it looks like a small convenience store, but at the back, there is a counter where you can order food. There are daily specials and they are VERY reasonably priced, like $8.50 for the Special (a 8" sandwich of some sort) which includes a side (soup, salad, or fries). You order, they bring the food to you, and you pay at the front cash once you're done. You can dine-in or takeout, it's a no frills type place! Food was freshly prepared, people were extremely nice, price is right especially if you're looking for a healthy-ish quick meal. Usually, I research in advance of eateries, and then hafta drive to a completely different area to avoid the chain restaurants, but if you're hungry after your TJ haul, I'd definitely recommend this local gem!
Absolutely love this place! The food here is not your typical food. Somehow it's always delicious every single time!!!! Reasonable prices for outstanding quality food! The staff are amazing and friendly! They do have seating inside in case you wanted to really enjoy the experience! I look forward to dining with you guys again...
Stopped in for a sub and ended up getting the chicken finger sub hot with blue cheese. I think it was the best chicken finger sub I've had in Buffalo! The sandwich was huge and held together well. I highly recommend this place PS check out the giant spider plant they have it is pretty unbelievable.
Just had the most amazing steak hoagie at Mayback's Deli! I couldn't resist going back two more times that week--it's that good! The employees are incredibly friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is cute and quaint. Whether you're dining in or taking out, Mayback's offers a true deli experience. I'll definitely be back for more and highly recommend it to anyone in the area!
Amazing food Quick service and a quality atmosphere to boot Sandwiches that fix hangovers
Another Buffalo gem of a sandwich shop that I've driven by for years and finally was in the area so ordered some takeout. Now this place, they make a sub! Ordered takeout, got a Stinger sub on white, medium sauce and wow this was up there on best sub in Buffalo. Tons of meat, chicken was great with not too much spice for medium. $15.99 for the sub which is on the higher end but you can get two full meals from these ones. Grab your sub from the takeout counter in the back of the store and head to the front to pay and you're all set. Looking forward to giving this place a try for breakfast as well!
I had been anxiously awaiting sinking my teeth into a Mayback sandwich and sub. The order was easy to place over the phone. I just used old pics of the menu from Yelp to see what options are available - didn't see that they had a website. Chicken finger sub (mini) - Classic. No complaints. Plenty of fingers. Steak breakfast sandwich - I recommend adding a hash brown patty. Unfortunately there wasn't much flavor - maybe just needed a touch of salt; but regardless, it was inhaled. Hope to be back to try more!
As good as any Philly sandwich! Finally. Look, Buffalo is far superior to Philly for many reasons but I've tried many a buffalo hoagie/sub that fell short. This place didn't! Shredded lettuce, thin white onions, good quality meat and sharp provolone. Toasted bun but cold ingredients. I'm a fan! Also the 6in is a mini and very affordable. It's a throwback to old school, good service at a mini mart. Tables are available. I'm a fan
They really do make a very good chicken finger sub. It's a place that you can drive by and not even notice but once you eat there, it will probably be in your regular rotation. The chicken finger is fried perfectly. They heat the oil enough so the chicken fingers aren't greasy. I had it medium spicy. It taste like Frank's red hots. The subs are pretty large for the price.
I've heard so many rumors that Mayback's Deli serves up the best chicken finger sub in the WNY region. I was a little skeptical, I'll admit. But after trying it for myself, I can attest to these rumors being true. Was in the mood for a chicken finger sub last night and figured we could try somewhere new. Mayback's is in an unsuspecting plaza on Niagara Falls Boulevard, but they've earned themselves a great reputation for their tasty food and reasonable prices. My sub, my boyfriend's steak hoagie, and a large order of fries totaled around $30. My sub was everything I dreamed of and more. I got the "mini" size, which was more than enough for me. I opted for my chicken fingers to be plain, but asked for blue cheese, and the flavor was not at all lacking. It was a bit messy, as all good subs should be, but it satisfied my chicken finger sub craving in the best possible way. Their menu is pretty large and they even have breakfast sandwiches (which I've also heard are really delicious). Since I'm in this area every now and then, I think I'll definitely be back. Don't sleep on Mayback's.
